Chiclayo

Live the Peru’s northern magic in a very charming place where you will be impressed by the caballitos de totora (small reed boats), the stunning exhibition at the museum about the Lord of Sipan’s tomb and the Huaca Rajada (a place where the Lord of Sipan’s tombs were found) which make you back in the time, or the beautiful beaches along with their fishermen, and the herbarium market of the psychics or chamanes. This will be a fascinating experience that you have been waiting for long time. Chiclayo is Located on Peru’s northern coast, it is the capital of the department of Lambayeque. A land full of contrasts close to the sea, presiding over an inexorable desert mixed in with fertile valleys that, centuries ago, saw the development of cultures such as the Mochica and Chimu, which dominated a large part of northern Peru. Chiclayo is Known as the Capital of Friendship, it is a true delight for history and archaeology buffs, as it is home to extraordinary archaeological complexes, and one of the best museums: the Royal Tombs, home to the Lord of Sipan, the largest archaeological find of the modern world.

Chiclayo’s spicy, delicious cuisine and its traditional dances such as the tondero and the zamacueca make this a very attractive and complete destination.
