Biography

Carlos was born in a country side of Peru’s highland, where learned the traditions, the customs, the culture, the ancient Incan language, etc. Because of that, he was called as “apucarlito” which means the son of the mountains. He fell in love with tourism as a young boy after studying in a tourism school and working in different travel companies in Cusco where he saw and felt the travel companies abusing their personal staff and paying them measly wages. That was the main reason to start with this great project of Peru Summit to beat with these misuses.

This is a local family enterprise truly, we are all locals from the founder until the muleteer and Inca Trail porter. Carlos and his wife Saida founded this family enterprise “Peru Summit Adventures™” after seeing the need for a company that would better serve visitors to Peru, by offering truly personalized and unique travel experiences. Carlos cares deeply about the experience of each and every guest, treating them with the same love and devotion that he gives his own only one beautiful child, and looks forward to meeting you in Cusco to hear about your experience! You can always call on Carlos to ask questions about your journey, or just to chat! The trek to Sanctuary of Machu Picchu through the Inca Trail is one of the best hikes that exists in the World, due to its unique beauty and different ecological niches, alongside the path you will feel different sort of microclimate because every day you will get in new different ecotones, it is like you will have lived the four season in only four days. Experiencing the Inca Trail gives you a deeper understanding of Machu Picchu and the Andean culture in general, and allows you to appreciate it even more by hiking the exact same path that the Incan people used to take. The path was reserved for elite Incas, who practiced spiritual devotion along the way. The principle sites are ceremonial in character and stand in ascending hierarchical order as you get near the city of Machu Picchu. The four days of hiking cover about twenty-seven miles, starting at an elevation of 8.923 feet above sea level (2.720 meters) and ending at 7,874 feet (2,400 meters). You will cross two high mountain passes of 13,828 feet (4,215 meters).

Trail conditions are generally good and our professional private Trek Leaders will teach you about Incan history and the unique wildlife along the path. All of our guides have a national tourism license and can explain the significance and the history of the trail. We will provide you with excellent equipment, nutritional, and delicious meals. Our porters required to carry equipment for this trek are friendly, happy, and helpful, and will make a great complement to your experience.

Generally, travelers hike the Inca Trail in four days; however, for people who are short on time, we offer a two-day hike. The two-day hike has an overnight stay at a hotel in Aguas Calientes so there is no camping. During the time the Incan Empire was on the pinnacle of glory, they had built a vast network of paths that intersected the Andes, from Argentina to Colombia, and from the deep jungle to the Pacific Ocean; the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu is one of the branch trails that goes from the Andes to the jungle, and this section of the classic 4-day Inca trail is about 27 miles/ 43 km.

The Inca Trail is not the only one trail that ends at Machu Picchu, there are other alternative paths that finish at Machu Picchu such as Salkantay Trek, Choquequirao Trek,  Ausangate Trek, Lares Trek, Uchuy Qosqo Trek, Inca Quarry Trek, Ancascocha Trek. Once at Machu Picchu you will enjoy its beauty and loveliness, that will be your great stunning reward, of seeing the Lost City Of The Incas for the first time.

EXPLORE CUSCO CITY AND ITS SURROUNDINGS

Cusco city was the capital of the Incan Empire, an administrative, ideological, political, economical center, etc. The city was constructed in the form of a puma, incorporating the fortress-temple Sacsayhuaman as its head. Like so many New World Peoples, the Incas held felines, especially puma or mountain lion, to be sacred. The body was comprised of residential buildings and palaces laid out in a grid between the Tullumayu and Saphi river. The city of Cusco was conceived as the center of the Empire where its four quarters came symbolically together and physically together. Four trails coming from each of the four quarters, or suyus in Quechua, converged in the great central plaza of the city. From this four-part division, the empire took its name of Tawantinsuyu, meaning the land of four quarters. Therefore, in the environs, the city of Cusco has many adoratories, such as Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Tampumachay, Pukapukara, and the other royals states in the Urubamba valley (Pisaq, Ollantaytambo, Machu Picchu, Chinchero, Moray, Uchuy Qosqo).

Thus whether you are not much interested in hiking to Machu Picchu, Cusco offers you to explore its surroundings in a calm way where each Incan sacred sites will leave you enchanted, and later on, we would take you escorted to Machu Picchu by train, Besides you have to know about the Cusco’s typical streets from the Incan time and colonial time, and of course about its typical places as the old markets in which you still see those different antique ítems for different purposes, and a good way to see and learn about these lovely places is with us, with our local private guides.

TRAVELING TO THE AMAZON JUNGLE

Discover the Amazon jungle with a naturalist local guide, it still maintains a monumental presence to communities that have sprung up along its jungle. The Amazon is home to the largest tropical rainforest in the world and to many Indian cultures. The oxbows nurture a staggering variety of plant and animal life, which flourished for millennia before the earliest indigenous settlers migrated here from the Caribbean. However, it didn’t become a major source of transportation and food until the arrival of Europeans in the 16th century. Experience life along with the Amazon Jungle in Peru with a Peru Summit Adventures local private guide as you explore several of the river’s tributaries and stop in native villages to meet locals carving their living from farming and fishing. In Manu national park and Tambopata National Reserved, stay in an Amazon jungle lodge, hike the forest, fish for piranha, and tour the oxbow by boat. Join Peru Summit Adventures on an expedition to explore a world rarely seen by the ordinary traveller: the Amazon Jungle.

OUR ACCOMMODATIONS

We select carefully our hotels in each destination all over the country. And we select our accommodations for how well they represent the distinctive character of the destination you’re in. Some of these rooms and cabanas draw their inspiration from history and others from the views they offer. What’s consistent, however, is that we stand by each and every one of these for what they’ll add to your experience.
