Lake Titicaca Tour 2 Days, A True Experience With Locals!

Lake Titicaca Tour 2 days–The local living experience along with its home-stay is a more authentic cultural experience to plunge deeper into the Andean people’s daily life on Amantaní Island and other visited islands in this 2-day tour to Lake Titicaca.

Amantani, Taquile, Uros on Lake Titicaca are truly amazing to experience their people who have lived since immemorial time, they remain starkly traditional. Quechua and Aymara-speaking residents work the fields with primitive tools, sail the lake with primeval caballitos de totora (reed boat), and harvest crops with methods unchanged since the days of the Incas. Today, they want to share their culture, their ancestral traditions with us, so have a great time exploring, and relive a tiny part of the great history of the sun’s children. These native people are good seafarers and great ones on weaving, so you will have a terrific time interacting with them–Lake Titicaca Tour 2 days.

Our tailor-made trip experts will work with you, offering guidance on the best time to travel at a pace that makes sense for you and yours. This tour is completely customizable, which means you can make your add-ons or focus on certain interests, where our private guides will offer you with more unique experiences, we will tailor this adventure to your specifications.

Trip Itinerary

DAY 1: Day 1, Puno – Uros – Amantani

We will go to your hotel to pick you up at 7:00 am (provide us your hotel information in Puno), we will then go to the port from where to go aboard the boat, the first place to visit is Uros floating islands, where, we will learn concerning of people who live on the floatings islands, and we will have time to hang out with them. After the visit these floating islands, we will continue sailing to get the next island Amantani, when we arrive to the port of Amantani, the local people will be waiting for us with a big and contagious smile who will take us to their house to have lunch, after lunch, we will be part of their daily activities that they do as farmers, we will then explore the island and of course we will go to Pachatata ( pre-Incan temple) from where we will have stunning sunset. At night about 7:00 pm we will have dinner. After dinner,  we will be part of the small celebration party organized by locals to enjoy the Andean music made of pure flute, eventually at about 10:30 pm we go back the house to sleep. Lunch and dinner included.

Note on family houses:The houses are very simple and the services are basic, but all clean. There is no running water in many of the houses and toilets are basic. There are no showers as they get energy from the solar panels. For many people, this home-stay experience and the encounter with the host family is a revelation of the reality of Andean people at such altitude and remoteness.

– Elevation where to stay (Amantani island):3,800 meters above sea level.

– Temperature: The average daytime temperature is 14ºC/ 57F, sometimes could be foggy with some rain and the temperature could descend to 8ºC/ 46F. At night, the average temperature is 3ºC/ 37F sometimes the temperature might descend until -5ºC/ 23F. Please, come prepared for this sort of temperature (goose down jacket, fleece jacket, rain jacket, gloves, merino thermal shirt are great).

DAY 2: Amantani – Taquile – Puno

We will have breakfast, which is made by the local family, right after that, we will embark the boat to Taquile island, the trip is about 1-hour, upon our arrival on this island, we will take a short hike to get amazing views as we make our way to the small village of Taquile, where we will have lunch (this lunch is not included), next, we will explore this small town and walk back to the dock to take the boat back to Puno, we will be getting the hotel at about 4:00 pm or after this time. Only breakfast included.

What Makes Us Different!… Here’s, Why You Should Book With Us!

Making a choice of your right travel company/ tour operator is the most important decision you will make as you make your plans for a long-anticipated dreamed adventure. At first glance, some companies may seem cheaper. However, when you research a little deeper, you will see why traveling with Peru Summit Adventures assures that you will have the most memorable travel experience possible. In fact, we guarantee it, our TripAdvisor reviews say that.

Making genuine and sustainable itineraries often translate to real costs, with a host of responsible travel practices that underpin our prices, here are the reasons why you should go with us!

1. We Focus on Details

Little insignificant details make all the difference to get a successful trip and an unforgettable experience, that’s the point where our tailor-made trip specialists and destination experts work intensely. No stone is left unturned in our quest to deliver exceptional private tours, trekking tours, and expeditions in Peru. With us, it’s all about you and your traveling mates too, for sure! We take your wants, needs, time constraints, budgets, and personal travel style into account to deliver experiences that are far from standard.

2. Our Safety Record is Flawless

Safety is at the core of everything we do at Peru Summit Adventures. There is nothing that we take more seriously. Put away your concerns and start enjoying the trip of your life knowing that you are on safe and sound hands. Peru Summit Adventures is a registered trademark and a licensed company by the Peruvian Ministry of Tourism (MINCETUR).

3. Knowledge and Expertise

What an awesome to travel with someone who is from the same destination, a professional expert, it’s how you get the first-hand information. Our Peru Summit Adventures staff are friendly, funny, with deep knowledge on the route and destination, and great storytellers. We love what we do and it’s obvious. A simple concept, yes, but it makes all the difference. The team at Peru Summit Adventures all live and breathe the trip, experience, adventure, (you’ll see this when you arrive!). We love what we do, and it’s obvious. From the moment you arrive, you’ll feel the buzz and excitement that Peru Summit Adventures offers.

4. We are Local Entrepreneurs, A Family Enterprise (we are not a gringo company)

Probably you will see that most of the tour operators mention it on their websites that are local tour companies, however, if you research a little deeper you will find out that’s not true, they might be although half of the operation is done from here and another half abroad, they even have NorthAmerican phone number or European phone numbers, which is a clue to find out, we are not against the foreigner companies or half foreign companies, what we are against is that they lie.

In Cusco exist just few truly local tour operators. If you did not know, foreign companies come to Peru to get rich without paying a General Sales Tax or Tax Contribution to our country. If you did not know that, according to the United Nations, for every US $100 spent on a tour in a developing country or foreign travel companies, only $5 stays in the local economy. Normally, almost all of the money flows back to large companies operating outside the destination countries. As we are a local family enterprise, we guarantee that your travel expenditures will support the local economy, and improve the lives of Peruvians through contributing to general sales tax.

5. Responsible Travel

Be a responsible traveller! Let’s make this world a better place for everyone and for everyone that lives in it! The natural environments that we travel to are fragile and abundant with beautiful culture and traditions that are often reliant on tourism. We have a responsibility as travelers to minimize the impact of our presence, protect what is delicate, and leave a positive influence everywhere we can.

As a locally owned and based Peruvian tour company, we integrate these practices into our in-country operations we are aiming for a style of travel that makes the world a better place for everyone, and for everyone that lives in it. Since our very first days as a tour operator, responsible business has been at the heart of what we do. Peru Summit Adventures is committed not just to treading lightly, but to making a real difference by helping and investing in local communities, education initiatives, environmental conservation projects. These values are not more than just words, they are ingrained in the culture and philosophy of our crew, daily operations of Peru Summit Adventures trips, and at our office too.
