Sacsayhuaman Pisac Tipon Tour–Sacred Valley is not only Pisac, Ollantaytambo, Chinchero, Maras, Moray, but there are also many more things to explore and see, so we have created this itinerary to explore the hidden gems of this valley and you’ll love it, for sure.
This tour is perfect for those who still have one more day or enough time after the visit the whole Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, and Cusco. Explore Pisac, famous for its massive farming terracings and a great cemetery both from Incan times. Pikillacta, a pre-Incan archaeological site that belongs to Wari culture, the second largest empire in SouthAmerica after the Incan empire, very well known for its great urban layout, which was the architectural key to inherit the Incan empire. Andahuaylillas, an astonishing colonial church from XVII century, this building still amazes the travelers by its amazing well preserved frescoes on the entire ceiling and a lot of canvas which were made by local Quechuans during the colony of Spain. Tipon, a marvel of Incan hydraulic engineering, famous for its aqueducts, canals, fountains which are laid out over the terraces all of them carefully made. This complex has been distinguished as a marvel of civil engineering by the American Society of Civil Engineering.
Since 2014 and since the very first day of our operation, Peru Summit Adventures has been blazing new ways of experiencing in Sacred Valley private tours. Our trailblazing is just one reason we are a uniquely qualified local company to ensure you have a trip of a lifetime.
At 7:30 am, your Peru Summit Adventures private guide comes at your hotel to pick you up, next, you will drive to Sacsayhuaman, which is located just 15 minutes away from Cusco, Sacsayhuaman is a very impressive site for its unique architectural style on the constructions. It was built in the 15th century by the ninth Inca (ruler) Pachacuteq as a temple for the Sun god and other Andean deities after rebuilding the temple of the sun in the city center of Cusco, this temple in whole construction had to be unique, that’s the reason of the big limestone boulders on the walls, boulders that rise until 28 ft of tall and weigh over 200 tons.
You will then drive to Pisac for 45 minutes, the crops terracings in Pisac are breathtaking, which cover all the hillsides of the mountains, these terraces were built to keep producing products on any time or season a year as they were fed by irrigation aqueducts system. Pisac has other smaller neighborhoods which are linked by short Inca trails, on this tour, you will take one of them to have a short walk while enjoying the impressive views around, once in Pisac, you can also visit its local colorful market, where you may find the perfect souvenirs.
After Pisac, you will drive to the southern part of Cusco, where lesser-known archeological sites are located but still amaze every traveller for the particular features they have. Pikillacta, this archeological site from the pre-Inca time was the main administrative center in the south of Peru as the capital of the Wari empire was located in the central part of Peru, Pikillacta people (Wari people) built the city perfectly organized, today the ancient remains still show the great layout.
Our next place to visit is Tipon, a place carefully designed with terraces and water canals, the place is thought to be a hydraulic engineering center to learn and research about this topic, and it is believed that place would have been built as a temple for the water since the Incans worshipped the water god, the aqueducts still run the water and the water sounds is very relaxing when walking around the terraces. After the visit, you will drive back to your hotel.
Andahuyalillas Church: A gorgeous church from the Spanish time (17th century) that’s located in Andahuayhlillas town, with astonishing frescoes on the walls and ceiling, and with amazing canvas painted by local Quechua people, if love ancient art and want to skip Pisac market or Pikillacta this church can be visited. Just plan with your private guide, who will be glad to give some options.
To visit the historical sites in the Sacred Valley, it is important to purchase an admission partial ticket (Boleto Turistico Parcial) whose cost is PEN 70 Peruvian soles (USD 25 per ticket) which allows you to access four historical sites like Pisac, Ollantaytambo, Moray, and Chinchero (in other words, it is used only for Sacred Valley). This ticket is valid for 2 days. Therefore, in our quotation, this entrance ticket is included. If you take one of the day treks, in which, the historical sites are not part of the itinerary, so the admission ticket will be excluded from the quotation.
If you get planned to visit other historical sites out of Sacred Valley, like the ones located in Cusco, our recommendation is that you need to purchase the general admission ticket (Boleto Turistico General) whose cost is PEN 130 Peruvian Soles (USD 45 per ticket), this ticket allows you to visit 14 historical sites, which are located in Cusco, Southern part of Cusco, Sacred Valley, and some museums in Cusco city. The ticket is valid for 10 days. The Maras salt ponds ticket is not part of the boleto turistico parcial or boleto turistico general (partial or general ticket), this ticket should be purchased at the entrance of the same place, whose cost is PEN 10 Peruvian soles (about USD 4 per ticket).
Price is quoted based on the number of participants, selected places to visit, and hotel location, please let us know these details to make a proper quotation.

Probably you will see that most of the tour operators mention it on their websites that are local tour companies, however, if you research a little deeper you will find out that’s not true, they might be although half of the operation is done from here and another half abroad, they even have NorthAmerican phone number or European phone numbers, which is a clue to find out, we are not against the foreigner companies or half foreign companies, what we are against is that they lie.
In Cusco exist just few truly local tour operators. If you did not know, foreign companies come to Peru to get rich without paying a General Sales Tax or Tax Contribution to our country. If you did not know that, according to the United Nations, for every US $100 spent on a tour in a developing country or foreign travel companies, only $5 stays in the local economy. Normally, almost all of the money flows back to large companies operating outside the destination countries. As we are a local family enterprise, we guarantee that your travel expenditures will support the local economy, and improve the lives of Peruvians through contributing to general sales tax.
