The Reopening of the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu–It’s been very tough times for tourism in the Cusco region due to the covid-19 since this part of Peru mostly get the main revenue from the tourism industry, national parks, archaeological parks, museums, historical sites, and many more were closed down, some of them are getting back to open again while others are still closed down.
One of the most expected sites to be opened was the Inca Trail, obviously after Machu Picchu. This historic trail will eventually be opened to the public as of July 15th, 2021, this is great news for all locals who are involved in the activity of tourism within this park, offering service like porter, cook, guide, etc. This great activity will finally reactivate their economies after a very long stop.
The Peruvian Ministry of Tourism along with the Peruvian Ministry of the Environment announced the last week the reopening of this historical trail to reach Machu Picchu by hiking and camping through the Andes mountains. This great news was clapped especially by locals, who are very excited to go back to their mountains again and share unforgettable moments with the travelers.

- Affidavit must be signed to enter Peru, find here this info
- Your tour operator through the guide will monitor the temperature during the trek duration.
